2018 Winner: Yunuen Trujillo-Jimenez
The winner of the 2018 Padua Latino Justice Scholarship Contest is Yunuen Trujillo-Jimenez.
This scholarship was established to recognize outstanding students who have not only achieved a high GPA, but also demonstrate an unparalleled involvement in their community, an appreciation of the legal issues facing Latinos, and significant financial need.
Our mission with this program is to ease the financial burden on award winners so that they may stay focused on such important issues and achieving greater justice and equality in the United States.

We would like to thank all of those who submitted essays for consideration for the 2018 scholarship. We had the pleasure of reviewing many amazing and thoughtful essays and regret that we could chose only one winner!

Alejandro L. Padua
Alex was born in Mexico City and became a Houstonian in 1988 after his family moved to Texas. Alex earned a B.B.A. in Finance from
Sara E. Padua
Ms. Padua received her A.B. in Psychology from Harvard University and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law with honors. Ms. Padua, a native of Mexico City, speaks Spanish and French, is learning Arabic, and has enjoyed living in several countries, which translates into a deeper understanding and compassionate drive when advising and advocating for her diverse clients. Importantly, Sara is passionate about helping victims with humanitarian immigration and other legal matters on a pro bono basis.
